split() depreciated (GuMaxVN 2.1)

I just installed GuMaxVN 2.1 on a fresh MediaWiki install, and it tells me
towards the top of the page. Attached is a screenshot. Happens with 1.17 and 1.16.1.
I just did a quick google, and it seems that preg_split() does the same thing with the same arguments. I replaced it myself, and everything seems to work fine now. Just posting this here in case others run across this problem as well.
