GumaxDD 1.0 - hiding tabs

Hi Paul!
I just applied gumaxdd 1.0 to our Mediawiki 1.13.3. When I go to remove the article/edit etc. tabs in gumaxdd.php, the entire site "left justifies" and the view becomes larger. Is this a IE8 thing? Was this addressed in subsequent drop-down series? Do I need to upgrade our Mediawiki to at least 1.15 ??
