GuMaxDD (latest), MW 1.20, "Watch" link doesn't work

Hey all,

Been using GuMaxDD for several years, recently updated to latest version on MW 1.20.

On of my users just reported to me that he can no longer "watch" a page. Sure enough, clicking the "Watch" link at the top right doesn't do anything anymore. If I right-click the link and open in new tab, then the page is correctly added to my watchlist.

Some initial research (linked below) indicates this might be related to AJAX and writeapi permissions, but I've never explicitly set those permissions, and the docs say that the defaults permit writeapi anyway (https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:User_rights)
