Gumax 3 and Float IE6 problem

Post by poveyjo »

Hi,

I use Gumax 3 and I have found a problem in IE6. It seems to be with the 'float' command.

Basically in tables where the style has the float specified (e.g. right, or left), it results in IE not displaying the contents of the table at all. Well, if you hover over it, you can see the links and content must be there, but you just can't see it.

This layout works fine in IE6 with Monobook, and also fine in Firefox and IE7.

The best way to see what is happening is by looking at http://www.peakbagging.co.nz/index.php/Mt_Ruapehu in IE6 and then Firefox. The right hand information infoboxes do not show in IE6.

I've look in the IE6fixes CSS file, but I don't really know where to begin fixing this. I really like the gumax 3 skin, and I have spent hours integrating it with my forum skin, so I really don't want to have to change it.

Any ideas much appreciated, thanks, Jon

I'm not sure about this one, but most of this type of issue is caused by a required "position: relative;" in it's up level tag.
