Be care of this guy

Post by Paul »

Hi,

I'm very happy to help users to get their project going, however, I had really terrible experience in people don't pay me for what I had done for their project and still use it like his own, what a shame!

'''I post this to warn MediaWiki developers and users to be aware of this type of people, be very careful to do any business with him or you will get nothing!'''

His name is Patrick Flanagan, he asked me to help his project out, and asked me to sign a contract. I completed as his request and he refused to pay me as indicated in the contract.

This is his project that I completed http://www.littleplanetearth.com/guides ... /Main_Page

Does anyone have any idea to make him to pay for this?

Thanks for any advise.

Bummer. It's hard to do it after the fact. I wonder if you can hand him over to a collection agency and give them a cut of the bill. It's better than nothing and I think it affects his credit rating. ;)

What some people do is charge 50% upfront and the other 50% after they get sign off of the final draft. The key is not to hand over the final code until you get the final product (sometimes easier said than done).

If possible, it might be worth developing it on your own server and transferring it to their server after the final payment.

Thanks man, I trust people at first, but this experience made me to be careful, trust might not always good.

I like your idea, I will do on my server, then make the deal at the end. Thanks for your great comment and advice. :D

Best regards

Well its kinda simple i belive you designed a unique theme for his site..
well make it public... that would remove the uniqueness of the site!
next u could have a look at the articles protecting your reputation online at seochat.com ---> reverse engineer the article

That wasn't nice. Did he give any reason as to why they refuse to pay? You've done a great job with the site. I wonder if there's a reason why they won't pay?

He promised he would pay me, and he committed a few time, and finally just never response to me :o. He told me once his family are all lawyer .

He never refused to pay me, he just never response to me. His project died after a few months, I think this might be the reason, but he is such a cheater.
