It seems to me that most of the objections relate to anyone being able to edit wikipedia articles. However, that is also a great strength with the process. If something is wrong, it can be corrected. That's more than can be said for text books. They are written by human beings as well and as we know, anyone can be wrong. But once written no change is possible (unless you know the author). Wikipedia on the other hand is subjected to constant review.
