How to enlarge the template?

Post by Saliver »

Hey Guys,

I just installed a personal MediaWiki on my server and briefly wanted to ask you how to enlarge the template GuMaxDD 1.0?
On my screen it has a really tiny look. Do I need to change something in the template.css? Width?

Hope someone can help me.

PS: You might want to look at it: http://kaplan.bplaced.net/mediawiki

Thank you very much for any help.

Regards,
Saliver

Thank you very much for your help. It worked.

Would you briefly tell me how to put a second horizontal layer to the navigation bar?
Something like:

*item1
** item2 | item2
*** second layer | item 3
Thank you Paul

That won't work since the mediawiki doesn't support more than three levels...........

Hi Paul,

I'm Massimiliano and I've downloaded the skin gumax 3.4.1.
It looks very nice: congratulations!

I was trying to enlarge the template from the gumax_template.css
And as you wrote here, it seems that I should go to * html .gumax-page { border-left: 3px solid #e7e7e7; border-right: 3px solid #e7e7e7; }. Is it correct? And if yes, should I increase the size of the pixel number? I've already tried to do that but I couldn't see any changes.

Please let me know,
Thanks!

Thanks Paul, it's working!

just a question: with a larger template (i.e. 990px) could i have problem to see my website on smaller screens?
I didn't try yet because I'm still working in localhost in my computer.
If yes, how can I fix the problem?

Thanks a lot,
Massimiliano

The small screen will have a horizontal navigation bar for big page....not user friendly....

Try not use big page is common way to do it.... if you look at top companies' web site, you should see how they handle it.....
