Page names with "." characters

I have being trying to figure out how to use domain names as pages in the wiki but it doesn't work, what I mean is "pagename" works but "pagename.com" gives me an error and wont load, any idea on how to allow domain names as pages - I think the error is it doesn't allow dots in pages but I have seen wikis that allow this, such as http://aboutus.org - virtually every page on that site is a domain name so it is possible, any ideas????
